Four Chicago, Illinois residents are taking the City of Chicago to the Supreme Court this week to sue Chicago over it's hand gun ban citing it's a violation of constitutional rights and taking away the right to defend one's self in the event of a home invasion or robbery.
One man being a ex Chicago Police Officer stated someone tried to rob his home while his wife was there alone and there was junkies and gangsters who prey around outside there homes. The four folks suing the City of Chicago claim that there rights to protect there personal property is a crime of denying constitutional rights with the right to bare arms.
I agree but where was the line drawn in the sand in the constitution on what guns we have the right to bare. As we know it now, there is a ban on all automatic rifle weapons in the United States which is covered under the Brady Bill. Banning all automatic weapons.
Hopefully with this lawsuit it will also open up the case of the right to carry a concealed weapon in Illinois as well. In all 48 upper states Illinois and Wisconsin are the only two states with no concealed carry law. In some cases special permits can be applied for but as of this date the number of them probably set only in some law enforcement jobs positions.
